Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Boot & Bristle collects when you visit our shop or place an order, and how we use it. We are the data controller for this information.
What we collect
- Your order: the wording for your mat, size and options.
- Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address, collected at checkout.
- Payment details, which go directly to our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- With your permission, information about how you arrived at and used our site, through Meta (Facebook) advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To make and deliver your order and to email you about it (performance of a contract).
- To keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation).
- To measure our adverts, only if you accept marketing cookies (consent).
Who we share it with
We share only what's needed with the companies that help us run the shop: Stripe (payments), Postmark (order emails), Railway (website hosting), our delivery carrier, and Meta for advert measurement if you consent. Some of these providers process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for six years for tax purposes, then delete them. Basket contents are stored only in your own browser.
Cookies and similar storage
Essential storage keeps your basket, wording and currency choice working. Marketing cookies from Meta are only set if you choose "Accept all".
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. If you're unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
